| Obverse description | Printed in dark green and violet, the obverse presents a large intaglio vignette at left of a seated woman — known as 'Grietje Seel' — in classical dress, resting her chin thoughtfully on her hand against a decorative architectural background. The arms with caduceus appear at lower left, while a circular guilloche underprint carries the denomination numeral '1000' at upper right.
