Obverse description Olive green on multicolour underprint. A vignette to the right centre presents a young woman in profile holding fruit, with a torch and a decorative band bearing the year of printing along the right border. The face bears the issuer's name, denomination in full, and date in intaglio lettering, with engraver and printer credits at the lower margin.

Reverse description The colonial coat of arms of Suriname occupies the central vignette, showing two indigenous figures as supporters flanking a shield charged with a sailing vessel. Below the shield, a ribbon bears the national motto in three parts. A serial number composed of two letters and six digits appears on the note, and a text block at the bottom centre reproduces Article 260 of the Surinamese Criminal Code concerning forgery and misuse of banknotes.
