| Reverse description | The gilt upper field features a highly detailed depiction of a Chinese dragon in dynamic coiling posture, rendered with fine scaled texture and flowing mane, its body curling across the composition above stylized flames. The lower portion of the field, in contrasting matte silver finish, depicts a segment of the Great Wall of China with towers and battlements extending across a rocky mountainous landscape. The Chinese character 龍 (dragon) appears to the right in the mid-field. The legend L'ANNEE DU DRAGON arcs along the upper left rim, and the date 2012 is inscribed within an oval cartouche at the base. |

| Additional information |
Cameroon has no meaningful connection to the Chinese zodiac, and that's precisely the point. Issues like this one are produced under licensing arrangements in which the issuing country contributes little beyond its name — the designs, distribution, and commercial strategy are handled entirely by private minting houses targeting collector markets in Europe and Asia. The Republic of Cameroon collected a fee; the rest is numismatic merchandise.
Gold plating over .999 silver is a finish that degrades at contact points with time.
