Printed in London by De La Rue during the Liberation period, this note was part of the Allied Military Currency programme — designed and engraved by Edmund Dulac, the French-born British illustrator better known for his fairy tale book plates and postage stamp designs. An unusual choice for wartime currency work, though his engraving credentials were genuine.
The "thin numbers" designation distinguishes it from a later printing variant with bolder serial number typography — a minor production change that creates two catalogued types from what is otherwise the same plate.
