| Additional information |
The Seute Deern was a three-masted topsail schooner built in 1919 and long used as a training vessel by the German merchant marine before being permanently moored in Bremen as a museum ship. Guinea's decision to feature her on a coin has no particular historical connection to the country — these small-denomination gold issues were struck for the international collector market, a common revenue strategy among nations with limited mint infrastructure and strong foreign demand for fractional gold.
