Guinea's micro-gold issues of this period were produced by the Berne-based private mint Swissmint's commercial division and similar European contractors, aimed squarely at the novelty bullion market rather than any domestic monetary function. The Pamir range specifically targeted collector series themed around mountain ranges, with minimal connection to Guinean monetary policy.
At 0.5 grams, these were struck at the absolute lower threshold of practical gold coin production.
