This coin exists entirely because the ACCP (Association for the Certification and Protection of Coins) and similar licensing bodies have made it commercially viable for small francophone African nations to issue collector silver on themes wholly unrelated to their own history — the nominal issuing authority is administrative fiction, a face value denominated in a currency the piece will never circulate in.
