| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of the Republic of Benin is rendered in high relief at the centre of the square flan, finished in black plating. The shield, supported by two leopards rampant, displays the traditional quartered arms with a castle, the Order of the Star of Benin, a palm tree, and a ship in the quarters. Above the shield, a buffalo head is depicted in profile. A ribbon below the supporters carries the national motto in the legend. The country name REPUBLIQUE DU BENIN arcs along the upper field, with the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA, date 2025, and fineness mark 1 OZ AG .999 inscribed in the lower field. |
