| Obverse description | Central field features the coat of arms of Gabon in high relief against a smooth, silver-toned background: a shield supported by two rampant black panthers, surmounted by a naturalistic okume tree, with a ship in full sail and wavy lines in the lower half of the shield. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE GABONAISE arcs above the arms in raised Latin lettering, while the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA appears in the lower field below the arms. The motto scroll is rendered in detail beneath the shield. The rectangular flan has a raised border with rounded corners. |
