Obverse description	Against a mirror-like proof field, a draped female allegorical figure is depicted seated in three-quarter view at centre, presenting a stone tablet inscribed with the national motto UNITE / TRAVAIL / PROGRES. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CONGO arcs along the upper border, while the denomination 1000 FRANCS is inscribed along the lower border. The date is divided either side of the central device, reading 19 to the left and 98 to the right.
