| Obverse description | The coin is struck in the outline shape of a dove with wings spread wide, its scalloped border following the contours of the plumage. At the centre of the field, the arms of the Gabonese Republic are depicted in fine relief, supported by two leopards rampant, with a ship and three horizontal bands on the shield and a radiant sun above. The curved legend RÉPUBLIQUE GABONAISE arches over the coat of arms, while the mint mark and fineness marks appear below it. The denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA and the purity inscription 999/1000 FINE GOLD are inscribed in two lines at the base of the field. |
