| Obverse description | The obverse of this rectangular silver piece features the coat of arms of the Republic of Benin at left, depicted in high relief with two leopards as supporters flanking a quartered shield, surmounted by a buffalo head above two crossed bows and arrows. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto FRATERNITE JUSTICE TRAVAIL in raised Latin lettering. To the right of the arms, the legend REPUBLIQUE DU BENIN appears in two lines above the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA, all rendered in bold raised characters. The date 2025 is inscribed in the lower left field. The antique-finish surface gives the piece a textured, aged aesthetic throughout. |

| Additional information |
Benin has no particular historical or numismatic connection to giant pandas — the series exists because Chinese-themed silver bullion sells reliably in collector markets, and the Republic of Benin, like several small West African nations, licenses its coinage authority for exactly this purpose. The coins are legal tender in name only; none circulates, and the issuing government receives a flat fee rather than seigniorage.
