| Obverse description | The obverse of this sculptural, irregularly shaped coin reproduces a vintage theatrical poster composition in the style of early twentieth-century circus and vaudeville advertising art. Dominating the upper field is the bold legend HOUDINI in large display lettering, below which the text PRESENTS HIS OWN ORIGINAL INVENTION / THE GREATEST SENSATIONAL MYSTERY / EVER ATTEMPTED IN THIS OR ANY OTHER AGE is arranged in descending lines. The central design depicts a powerfully built, bare-chested figure of the escapologist looming behind and above a riveted glass-fronted water torture cell, within which a second rendering of Houdini is shown suspended upside-down, bound at the ankles, submerged in water. To the left of the central device appear the inscriptions 1 OZ / .999 FINE SILVER, while to the right a padlock motif with the serial number 0000 appears in the field.
