| Additional information |
Burkina Faso has no diplomatic or historical connection to giant pandas — this coin exists purely because the country licenses its issuing authority to European private mints, primarily for the collector novelty market. Chad, Congo, and several other francophone African states operate the same arrangement. The sovereign name on the coin is effectively rented.
The "3D glass sculpture" designation refers to a domed or lenticular optical insert, a production technique popularized by Polish mint Mennica Polska and quickly replicated across the novelty numismatic sector in the mid-2010s.
