Benin's CFA franc issues of this type are struck under the authority of the West African Economic and Monetary Union but commissioned and distributed almost entirely through European numismatic wholesalers — the coins never circulate in Benin and are not intended to. The "German Knight" subject has no historical connection to the issuing nation; it belongs to a category of African-issued silver that exists purely as a vehicle for themed collector content, with sovereign authority essentially licensed to produce foreign subject matter.
KM#110 was struck at the Bavarian State Mint in Munich — fitting, given the subject matter.
