Obverse description The national coat of arms of Togo occupies the central field, depicting two rampant lions flanking a central shield bearing the monogram 'RT' (République Togolaise), surmounted by two crossed national flags with scrolls inscribed TRAVAIL, LIBERTE, and PATRIE. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE TOGOLAISE runs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1000 FRANCS CFA is inscribed in the lower field. A beaded border frames the entire design.

Reverse description A large, naturalistically rendered African elephant is depicted in profile facing right, its form enhanced with polychrome coloring applied to the central design. In the upper portion of the coin, a nocturnal savanna scene features two adult elephants and a calf rendered against a night sky. The legend PROTECTION DE LA VIE SAUVAGE arcs along the upper border, with the date 2011 appearing in the lower field. The composition is framed by a beaded border consistent with the obverse.
