| Reverse description | A colorfully enameled scene dominates the reverse, depicting a red monoplane in lateral profile in flight, marked with the registration 'CH 262' on its fuselage, presented against a backdrop of green mountains and a stylized sky with white and blue clouds. The date range 1931 - 2001 is inscribed in raised lettering along the upper periphery. The year of issue 2005 appears in the lower left field, while the curved legend L'HISTOIRE DE L'AVIATION is inscribed in bold raised lettering across the lower exergue on a dark ground. The vivid polychrome enamel application highlights the aircraft, landscape, and sky elements. |

Benin's commemorative silver program, administered through the Banque Centrale des États de l'Afrique de l'Ouest, has produced a sprawling catalogue of collector issues since the country reverted to the name Benin in 1975 — many with little connection to Beninese history or culture, contracted out to European minting houses targeting the thematic collector market. KM#68 falls squarely in that tradition.
