Obverse description The obverse is divided into two vertical panels framed by an elaborate Moorish-style border with geometric interlace and arabesque guilloche work in green, blue, and gold tones. The left panel contains a large horseshoe arch vignette set within ornate Islamic tilework, with the serial number printed below the arch. The right panel bears the issuer name BANQUE D'ÉTAT DU MAROC at the top, the denomination MILLE FRANCS in bold letterpress, the issue date beneath, and a panoramic intaglio vignette of a Moroccan city skyline with a minaret, below which anti-counterfeiting text and serial numbers appear.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large horseshoe arch vignette on the right, rendered within richly detailed Islamic geometric tilework borders in tones of blue, green, and gold. The left panel carries the Arabic bank name البنك المخزني للمغرب and denomination الف فرنك in bold Arabic calligraphy, accompanied by three signature lines with titles and a block of Arabic legal text; palm fronds appear at the lower centre. The denomination 1000 is repeated in a cartouche at the lower right, with الف in a corresponding cartouche at the lower left.
