| Additional information |
Graphium policenes, the Policenes swallowtail, is a West and Central African butterfly species whose range overlaps with Equatorial Guinea's mainland province of Río Muni. The 2015 silver fauna series from Equatorial Guinea was produced under the country's long-running arrangement with foreign minting houses — Equatorial Guinea itself has no domestic mint — issuing collector coins that rarely if ever circulate within the country's borders.
KM#158 is one of several natural history-themed pieces from this period targeting the European and Asian numismatic collector market rather than any domestic monetary function.
