| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Equatorial Guinea occupies the central field, depicting a silk-cotton tree (ceiba) on a silver shield, flanked by six six-pointed stars above representing the mainland and island regions. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto in three parts: UNIDAD, PAZ, and JUSTICIA. The date 19·93 is divided across the lower field on either side of the shield.
