Obverse description Central device features the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), depicting a spread eagle with a shield on its breast bearing a traditional Armenian architectural motif, surrounded by radiating sunbeams. The Armenian legend encircling the arms reads the full name of the republic, with the name ԱՐՑԱԽ (Artsakh) prominently displayed within the inner legend band. Two olive or laurel branches flank the date 2004 at the top of the field, and the denomination 1000 appears at the bottom, with the silver fineness mark 999 inscribed to the right of the arms in the field.
