The Year of the Snake sits twelfth and final in the 60-year Chinese sexagenary cycle before it resets — a placement that makes 2025 a calendrically significant year in ways that extend well beyond standard lunar new year observance. Perth Mint's lunar series has run continuously since 1996, and the 10 oz gold format at this weight and fineness represents one of the heavier single-coin bullion strikes in the program's history. This is also the first full lunar series year to feature Charles III's effigy following his 2023 coronation, replacing the long-running Jody Clark portrait of Elizabeth II that anchored the previous cycle.
