Reverse description The reverse, in tones of purple, orange and green, carries a central intaglio-style vignette of the Bank of Guyana headquarters building in Georgetown, rendered in fine line engraving against a light background. Decorative guilloche rosettes in purple and orange occupy the left margin, while a spiralling security-design tower element appears to the right. The denomination is repeated in large numerals and lettering across the upper and lower fields.

Comments

Crane Currency's contract for Guyana's higher denominations has quietly shifted the production history of this series away from its earlier De La Rue association. The 1000-dollar note in this format is among the more recent high-value paper issues from Georgetown, at a moment when most regional central banks have been moving toward polymer substrates — Guyana has held to paper here.

TBB#124a is a first-prefix catalog entry, suggesting this is the earliest recorded signature or date variety for the type. Worth confirming against the actual prefix letter before cataloging further.
