Reverse description Central device depicting the Shir-o-Khorshid (Lion and Sun), the imperial emblem of Qajar Iran: a lion passant to the left, holding an upright sword in its right forepaw, with a radiant rising sun issuing from behind its back. Above the lion, a Qajar crown surmounts the composition. The central device rests on a ground line and is framed by a wreath of olive and oak branches tied with a ribbon bow at the base. Below the central device, the denomination legend in Arabic script appears, with the AH date ١٢٨١ (1281) inscribed in the lower exergue. The rim is defined by a continuous milled border.
