| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by a large intaglio portrait vignette of poet Rubén Darío at right, with his dates "1867–1916" and the title "Príncipe de las Letras Castellanas" printed beside it. At center, a multicolored guilloche underprint incorporates a stylized white flower and a green quill-and-inkwell motif, overlaid by a stanza from Darío's verse rendered in dark lettering across the face. The Nicaraguan national coat of arms appears at left center, flanked by the bank title "BANCO CENTRAL DE NICARAGUA" and denomination "MIL CÓRDOBAS" at upper left, with two facsimile signatures of bank officials below center. |
