| Obverse description | Central device comprises the Nicaraguan national arms rendered as an equilateral triangle enclosing five volcanoes beneath a radiant rising sun, all set against a deeply mirrored proof field. The circular legend REPÚBLICA DE NICARAGUA runs along the upper periphery, flanked by small five-pointed stars. The weight and fineness specification 20g and AU. 917 appear at left and right respectively along the lower rim. Below the central device, the patriotic motto SANDINO SIEMPRE is inscribed across the lower field, with the denomination 1000 CÓRDOBAS curved along the very base of the coin. |
