| Obverse description | Dark intaglio print on multicolour guilloche underprint. An intaglio portrait vignette of General Augusto César Sandino in his characteristic wide-brimmed hat is positioned at right, with his name inscribed below. The large denomination numeral '1000' appears in intaglio at centre, above the inscription 'UN MIL CORDOBAS' on a dark banner, flanked by ornate guilloche cornerpieces bearing the numeral '1000' at all four corners. Three signature lines are present at bottom, attributed to the Ministro de Finanzas de la República, the Presidente del Banco Central de Nicaragua, and the Vice Presidente del Banco Central de Nicaragua. |
