Reverse description Central square perforation flanked by two vertical Manchu script legends, one on each side of the hole, reading the mint name Boo-chiowan (Board of Revenue mint, Beijing). The denomination characters 當 (Dang) and 千 (Qian, meaning 1000) appear in Chinese at the top and bottom respectively. A crescent symbol is positioned to the upper left of the central hole and a dot or pellet to the upper right, serving as mint or furnace marks consistent with Board of Revenue issues of the Xianfeng period.
