Additional information

Issued to mark the formal coronation of King Vajiralongkorn on May 4–6, 2019 — a ceremony delayed nearly three years after the death of his father Bhumibol Adulyadej in October 2016, the longest reign in Thai history at 70 years. The postponement followed an extended national mourning period, making this coronation the first Thailand had conducted in seven decades.

Royal Thai Mint coronation issues of this type are struck in limited, authorized quantities and sold at face value through government channels, rarely entering circulation in any practical sense.
