| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Rwanda in high relief at center, depicting a traditional woven basket flanked by sprigs of sorghum and coffee, surmounted by a sun and a knotted rope at the base, all within a raised inner circle. The legend BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA arcs along the upper rim, while AMAFARANGA 1000 IGIHUMBI is inscribed along the lower rim.
