| Reverse description | A highly sculptural, three-dimensional gold-plated effigy of a bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) in dynamic flight rises prominently from the coin's field, with wings fully extended and detailed feather engraving rendered across the entire body. The eagle's talons grip a raised platform at the centre of the reverse, itself surrounded by a ring of five-pointed stars incused into the gold-plated field. The peripheral legend, inscribed on the silver rim, identifies the subject and specifies the metal content and year of issue. The dramatic sculptural relief, extending well above the coin's plane, is the defining artistic feature of this issue. |
