| Obverse description | Centered on the obverse is a large crowned Polish eagle displayed with wings spread, rendered in a bold, stylized manner characteristic of the Polish People's Republic coinage. The eagle faces forward with detailed feathering on the wings and body, and a shield at its breast. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA arcs around the upper periphery, while the date 19 60 is divided across the lower field, flanking the base of the eagle.
