Reverse description A detailed architectural view of the Basilica of the Virgin Mary (Kościół Mariacki) in Kraków dominates the central field, depicted in fine relief with its characteristic asymmetrical twin towers and Gothic nave rendered with considerable numismatic artistry. The church façade and surrounding structures are shown in slight perspective, conveying architectural depth. The Latin inscription CRACOVIA TOTIUS POLONIAE URBS CELEBERRIMA — meaning 'Kraków, the most celebrated city of all Poland' — curves along the upper periphery. The word PRÓBA, indicating trial or pattern status, appears in the lower right field. The design is set within a smooth, unadorned field typical of the Mennica Państwowa's proof-style pattern strikes.
