| Additional information |
Poland's Environment Protection series of the early 1980s was produced while the country was under martial law — Jaruzelski had declared it in December 1981, and the economic disruption that followed affected Mennica Państwowa's normal production schedules throughout 1982 and 1983. Trial strikes from this period were produced in alternative compositions to test dies and assess striking quality before committing to the approved metal. The nickel trial for this bear issue is catalogued separately by Fischer and Parchimowicz precisely because the composition diverges from the issued coin.
