| Obverse description | Central field features a finely detailed proof-finish depiction of the Temple of Heaven (Tiantan) in Beijing, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished background. The iconic circular ceremonial hall with its triple-tiered blue-tiled roof and surrounding marble terrace and balustrades is shown in full frontal elevation. The Chinese legend '中华人民共和国' (People's Republic of China) arcs around the upper periphery of the coin in bold Chinese characters. The date '2006' appears in Arabic numerals at the bottom of the field, below the temple. |
