Obverse description Central device depicts the Temple of Heaven (Tiantan) in Beijing, rendered in fine relief with precise architectural detail including its three-tiered circular roof, marble terrace, and ceremonial staircase leading to the entrance. A traditional balustrade enclosure extends across the lower field on either side of the structure. The Chinese legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs along the upper periphery in Chinese characters, with the character 国 positioned to the right within a decorative square frame. The date 1991 appears in Arabic numerals along the lower rim.
