The Bank of Rehher Sheeng — more accurately rendered as Rehe Province (熱河省) — was a short-lived provincial institution operating under Communist Party control in the final years of the civil war. Rehe had been a contested administrative unit since the Manchukuo period, and by 1947 the province was firmly in People's Liberation Army hands, making this note part of the broader pattern of Communist-controlled regional banks issuing their own currency ahead of eventual PLA monetary consolidation.
The Pick S-prefix signals provisional or local issue status. Notes from this series are genuinely scarce in any grade; the province itself was abolished in 1955 and absorbed into Hebei, Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia.
