Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Taisuke Itagaki positioned at right, set within a finely engraved frame with guilloche underprint throughout. Denomination numeral "100" appears at left and repeated in all four corners, with the issuer name in kanji at center and the subject's name inscribed below the portrait.

Reverse description A finely engraved intaglio vignette of the National Diet Building occupies the right portion of the note, rendered with detailed architectural precision against a lightly hatched sky. To the left, a large circular guilloche medallion carries the yellow-green denomination numeral "100" over a paulownia floral underprint, with a red seal of the Finance Ministry Printing Bureau at its lower right. The legend "NIPPON GINKO" runs along the top border and "100 YEN" along the bottom, all framed by an ornate scalloped border with foliate corner devices.
