Obverse description The central vignette presents two Onagadori long-tailed roosters facing one another against a pale green guilloche underprint, with the large kanji denomination 百圓 at centre and the numeral 100 in the lower corners. The Imperial chrysanthemum seal is positioned at top centre, a red circular official seal appears at lower left, and the legend 大日本帝國政府 runs across the upper field. An elaborate guilloche border with foliate corner ornaments frames the design, with the printer's imprint 大日本帝國印刷局製造 along the lower margin.
