| Obverse description | Central field features the official emblem of the Bank of Mongolia, comprising the soyombo symbol surmounting a yin-yang device enclosed within a stylised arch, all resting on a decorative lotus-petal base. The legend 'Монгол Банк' in Cyrillic script appears in cursive lettering within the arch, flanked on either side by vertical inscriptions in the traditional Mongolian script. Below the emblem, the denomination '100' is struck in large numerals, with 'ТӨГРӨГ' in Cyrillic and 'MONGOLIA' in Latin script arranged in two lines beneath. The coin's border is formed by a continuous series of alternating raised tooth-and-notch denticles. |

| Reverse description | Finely detailed panoramic view of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu rendered in high-relief engraving. The lower portion of the field depicts the terraced stone ruins and principal structures of the ancient settlement in meticulous detail, while the dramatic peak of Huayna Picchu dominates the right-centre background with deeply sculpted rocky faces and forested flanks. A small globe-and-leaf privy mark device appears in the upper left field. The date '2008' is inscribed in small numerals against the rocky mountainside at mid-right. The legend 'MACHU PICCHU' curves along the upper rim in spaced Latin capitals. |
