| Reverse description | The reverse is dominated by a large central guilloche rosette flanked by the numeral 100 repeated at each corner, with the denomination also rendered in traditional Mongolian vertical script on either side. Cyrillic and traditional Mongolian script inscriptions across the centre identify the issuing state and the year of the republic. The overall design is executed in a pale blue-green palette with intricate lathe-work underprint patterns filling the background. |

The Mongolian Trade and Industry Bank — Mongolbank's predecessor in function if not in name — issued this 1941 series under conditions of near-total Soviet administrative oversight. Goznak, the Moscow state printing works responsible for Soviet banknotes and securities, produced the entire run, a practical arrangement given Mongolia's lack of any domestic printing infrastructure and its position as a Soviet satellite state in all but formal designation.
The 1941 series replaced earlier issues as Mongolia aligned its monetary apparatus more tightly with wartime Soviet economic planning. P#27 is the highest denomination of that series.
