| Additional information |
Bakhytzhan Mailin was a Kazakh writer and playwright executed during Stalin's Great Terror in 1937, rehabilitated posthumously decades later. This coin is part of Kazakhstan's ongoing "People in its History" commemorative program, which has used the 100 Tenge denomination to honor figures suppressed or erased during the Soviet period — a pointed curatorial choice by the National Bank.
