The saker falcon (*Falco cherrug*) has been listed on the IUCN Red List as endangered since 2012, its wild population collapsed primarily by trapping for the Gulf falconry trade. Tajikistan sits within one of the bird's last viable Central Asian breeding corridors, which is the political justification for this issue — conservation coinage tied to national habitat rather than generic wildlife sentiment.
