| Additional information |
Issued in 2001 to mark the 660th anniversary of Timur's birth, this coin appeared during a period of intense state-sponsored rehabilitation of the Timurid dynasty as a cornerstone of Uzbek national identity — a project that began almost immediately after independence in 1991. The Amir Timur Museum in Tashkent had opened just four years prior, and the equestrian monument referenced by this coin's name was unveiled in 1993 on the site of a demolished Marx statue.
Struck in .999 silver at 31.10 g, this is a standard one-troy-ounce commemorative format for the series.
