Obverse description The obverse is printed in blue and features a central large kanji inscription '百圓' (100 Yen) below the bank title in kanji and romanized form 'NIPPON GINKO'. To the right, an intaglio vignette presents Daikoku, the god of wealth, seated with a large sack over his shoulder and a mallet in hand, rendered in fine engraved detail. A red circular official seal appears at the lower left, with guilloche borders framing the note and placeholder ovals for serial numbers at the corners.
