Uganda's "Lunar" series coins, issued in the early 2000s, were produced for the international collector market rather than domestic circulation — a common revenue strategy among smaller central banks licensing their issuing authority to private minting firms. KM#145 is one of several animal-themed pieces from this run, almost certainly struck by a European contract mint and never intended to cross the Ugandan border in any quantity.
