Obverse description The national coat of arms of Uganda occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield supported by a Uganda kob (Kobus kob thomasi) rearing on the left and a grey crowned crane (Balearica regulorum) standing on the right, both set upon a grassy mound with the Nile river below. The shield displays a drum and spears in the upper quarters and a sun rising over water in the lower quarters. A scroll in the exergue bears the national motto 'FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY'. The circular legend 'BANK OF UGANDA' arcs along the upper periphery, while 'ONE HUNDRED SHILLINGS' runs along the lower periphery, all separated from the design by a continuous inner beaded border.
