Obverse description The national coat of arms of Uganda occupies the central field, featuring a shield supported by a Uganda kob to the left and a crested crane to the right, with a sun motif at the centre of the shield and a scroll bearing the national motto below. The legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, separated by a raised dot on each side, while the denomination 100 SHILLINGS is inscribed along the lower periphery. The motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY appears on the scroll at the base of the arms. The entire design is bordered by a fine beaded inner circle.
