Reverse description A three-quarter-length effigy of Emperor Maximilian I faces right, portrayed in elaborately detailed full plate armour surmounted by an imperial crown, with flowing hair visible beneath. In his left hand he holds a sceptre topped by a cross, resting it over his shoulder, while his right hand grasps a sword at his side, conveying imperial authority and martial dignity in a manner recalling late-Gothic court portraiture. The engraver's monogram TP appears at the lower centre of the field. The curved legends KAISER to the left and MAXIMILIAN I. to the right arc around the effigy along the inner border.
