| Reverse description | The central design features a detailed frontal view of the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar, rendered in finely engraved relief, with its characteristic multi-tiered domed architecture, arched entrance porticos, and a tall flagpole (Nishan Sahib) rising prominently to the right of the structure. Below the central motif, an inscription in Gurmukhi script reads 'ਬਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਬਾਣੀ' (The Word is the Guru and the Guru is the Word). The peripheral legend, in both Gurmukhi and Latin scripts, commemorates the tercentenary of Gur-Ta-Gaddi, with the date '2008' appearing at the base of the coin flanked by decorative dots. |
